This stunning big bear mountain top editorial was what a film photographers’ dreams are made of! I was so worried it would be freezing cold, which is was, and start snowing on this shoot, which it did, but the results were truly magical! I shot these on my Pentax 645N film camera with Fuji 400h Film and subsidized the shoot with some digitals as well. We braved freezing temperatures and lots of sopping wet clothing but it was worth it. My vision for this shoot was a romantic outdoor elopement in the mountains surrounded by a winter wonderland and when it began snowing an hour before the shoot started I knew we were going to get exactly that! Knowing there might be snow I option to use a blue wedding gown designed by one of New York’s finest, Carrol Hannah Bridal. I felt that the dress should pop off of the white snowy backdrop versus blending into it. Would you wear a blue wedding dress on your wedding day? I am thinking definitely yes!
