I have always loved Spanish style buildings and architecture, and here in Southern California, we are spoiled with so many beautiful examples of this. When I planned this editorial, I already knew that I wanted to incorporate that architecture into it, and style it around that style. We chose bold florals and a stunning Carol Hannah wedding gown that reminded me of the soft textures of the plaster on the sides of the mission walls for this shoot. We worked closely with Willow Modeling Agency to find the perfect couple to model for it and spent the day shooting all film, Yes you read that right, these are all film! This was actually my very first all film shoot, I was so nervous going into it unsure of how they would come out but when these scans hit my inbox they were absolute perfection.

We lucked out with the most beautiful weather for our shoot, and if you haven’t visited the San Juan Capistrano Mission I suggest you do soon. It is a beautiful example of old Spanish architecture combined with lush gardens and religious artifacts. It’s such a lovely location to tour, spend the day and do a photoshoot.
