I think the thing I love most about blogging is getting to tell a story, and to share a couples wedding day and let them relive it through my photos and video is so special to me. Sara and Fabio’s wedding was one of the most emotional (check out 1:31 in their video gahhhhhh!!!) I think we all cried at least a half dozen times, between their emotional first look, her daddy walking through the door to see her for the first time and just falling apart, and Fabio at the top of the isle waiting for her to walk down with tears streaming down his face. I know I couldn’t keep it together! On top of it all, their wedding was planned to perfection, every detail so beautiful and romantic. Check it out below and let me know what you think in the comments!

SARA: Fabio and I met through mutual friends.  Turns out we actually went to high school together, but we didn’t know each other in high school.  One of my best friends from high school married one of his best friends from high school, and our paths just happened to cross at their house one day.  Fabio had just started working at the same company as my friend’s husband, and they carpooled back and forth to work.  My friend and I had plans to go to a birthday party later that night, but I decided to come over a couple of hours early to study for finals before getting ready to leave. Fabio just happened to hang out longer than usual that day after work, and was there when I arrived. Had he gone home when he normally did, or had I come over later like I had originally planned, we probably never would have met. After talking to him for a while and falling in love with his laugh, I begged my friend to invite him to go out with us that night. He stayed to go out with us, and we have been inseparable ever since.

SARA: If you asked my friend Niki, the one that is responsible for us meeting, she would say that she knew he was the one because she heard me laugh more in that one night than she has heard me laugh in over 10 years of friendship.  However, I cannot think of any one specific reason or event that made me decide he was the one for me.  I feel like my experience with Fabio is about as close to love at first sight as it gets.  The very first time he smiled I knew I needed him in my life, and since that night he has continued to give me new reasons to love him.

FABIO: The way I knew she was the one for me was her love for others, she would put others first then herself and I truly value her in every way.

Sara: I have never been a huge fan of large crowds, or cheasy Hallmark holidays.  It was Valentine’s Day and I refused to go out to eat because of the crowds and because Valentine’s Day is the chesieset Hallmark holiday of them all. Instead, we invited my family over for dinner and we all cooked and ate together, because I felt like we should all celebrate how much we loved each other.  As dinner was winding down, and we were getting ready to clear the table, Fabio started going around the table and telling each one of my family members how much he appreciates them and thanking them for always making him feel at home.  I was on my third glass of wine by this time, so I thought he was just saying sweet things because it was Valentine’s Day.  Then he got to me and told me how much he loved me and my family and wanted to be a part of my family for the rest of his life, he stood up, and fumbled around in his pocket for the ring box, and then it hit me. He got down on one knee in front of my entire family, and I burst into tears, as he asked me to marry him.

Fabio:  I proposed on Valentine’s Day in front of her family

Sara: The first weekend after we met, we spent a weekend at my parents’ home in Lake Arrowhead.  It was one of the best weekends of my life, and we frequently escape to the mountains to get away from the craziness of everyday life. So, when it came time to plan our wedding, we both decided it would be amazing to get married up in Lake Arrowhead, since it is somewhere that we both really love.  I googled for wedding venues in Lake Arrowhead, and Pine Rose Cabins was one of a few that I looked at.  The others were all large resorts and lacked that natural, outdoorsy feel. We wanted something that felt like you had escaped the normal world, since that is how we feel when we get away for the weekend.  Then we found Pine Rose Cabins.  Looking at the pictures online, I knew that I needed to see this one in person, so we called and scheduled an appointment to tour the venue. Pine Rose was the first and only venue that we ended up looking at. It was so beautiful that I literally cried, we signed our contract the very next weekend.

Fabio: We chose our venue because it reminded me of the twilight wedding

We wanted something timeless and whimsical.  Since our venue was outdoors and surrounded by forest, we didn’t want anything that took away from the scenery.  We chose blush, grey, and white as our colors because they felt like timeless, classic, wedding colors that would complement the greenery around the venue.  We also tried to incorporate little things that we share interest in. We both like to thrift shop for vintage bakeware and glassware. We have a small obsession with it that has led to a huge collection of beautiful glassware and bakeware.  So, we tried to incorporate that with the hobnail flower vases and the various milk glass and pressed glass cake stands and plates. We had the small hidden super hero theme because we both love Marvel, as do all of our friends.  When Fabio saw other weddings where the men wear super hero shirts under their suits, he was in love, so we had each of the groomsmen wear super hero shirts that represented their personal favorite, and we got them matching super hero cufflinks to go along with it.

Sara:  The moment I saw the photos in the portfolios, I was in love.  I am very picky about photography styles and I loved the soft romantic feel that I saw in all of the photos in the Whimsie portfolio. Then our meeting with Sadi was the icing on the cake because she was so sweet and friendly and she has a great sense of humor.

Fabio: we chose Whimsie studios for their professionalism and great attitude, also the creativity presented to us was more than we could have asked for.

Sara: Our wedding day photoshoot was like a dream.

Fabio: Our photo shoot experience was amazing!

Sara: Does every single second count?  My favorite part was the first looks.  I have a really hard time keeping secrets when it comes to surprises, and not showing Fabio my dress for over a year was terribly difficult.  Then earlier in the morning, I had told multiple people to tell him that he wasn’t allowed to come upstairs anymore, but the message never found its way to him and he walked into the kitchen while I was standing there in full face makeup and my hair completely done.  Luckily, I still had my pajamas on, but I just died inside because I felt like the entire day was ruined, and it took all of my self-control to not cry all of my makeup off.  Watching Fabio’s reaction to seeing me for the first time was everything I had dreamed of and then some.  I have only seen Fabio cry twice in the three years that we have dated.  Then my first look with my dad was equally amazing.  My dad has only ever cried in front of me once, and he is terrible with words when it comes to expressing how he feels.  Well in that moment, he didn’t need to say a single word, because his reaction said it all.  Since I am an only girl child, with two brothers, I have always cherished the unique relationship I get to have with my dad

Fabio: My highlight of the day was our first look. The moment she touched my shoulder and I turned around to see her was a moment that will forever be in my dreams!

Sara: Working with you (Sadi) was amazing.  The photoshoot was fast-paced, but you would never be able to tell that we took all of those photos in such a short amount of time because they are all so gorgeous. You were able to direct people around and your presence was loud and in charge, yet it was still like having a long-lost friend take photos at your wedding.  I never felt weird or uncomfortable in front of the camera.  Looking back, I am purely amazed at how many amazing shots you were able to catch in such a short time frame.  When we were running out of time after the ceremony, and dinner time was fast approaching, and I said I didn’t care and wanted to continue taking photos you were all for it, and I loved that you were so happy to continue taking photos even though we were being pressured to go do the grand entrance.  I am also super grateful that you were as excited as I was when I decided to quit eating to take more pictures using the ring of fire and the prism. It was really wonderful to have someone that understood the importance of pictures, since photos, and a dress in a box, is all we are really left with in the way of memories at the end of the best day ever.  My family and I will be using you for all of our photos for years to come.

Fabio: I enjoyed the energy, sense of humor and creativity for every photo taken
