Mary and Eric’s whimsical wedding at the Summit House Wedding Venue
This stunning, classic wedding at the Summit House was just so romantic and so sweet. From the long sleeve lace wedding dress to the all white wedding cake with vibrant pops of colors to the most gorgeous bride and groom wedding photos you’ve ever seen, this Fullerton wedding was pure magic.
How did you guys meet: Eric and I met a little over a year ago in the hospital where my mother had her second brain operation for an incurable brain cancer. He was in his Firefighter’s Class “B” uniform and I was just a mess. Somehow I caught his attention standing in the hospital’s coffee shop’s line. He bought me a coffee and we talked for hours as I waited for my mother to wake. We haven’t left each other’s sides since!
How did he propose: We took a trip to Shaver Lake in the Western Sierras of California with Eric’s parents. With the lake in the background, Eric dropped down on one knee and surprised everyone as he pulled out the engagement ring. We spent the rest of the weekend hiking, fishing and planning our wedding around the campfire.
Why did you choose your venue and how did you find it? We chose our venue because of the amazing food and beautiful scenery. Eric is from Orange County and had eaten there many times in the past.
Why did you choose us to photograph it and how did you find us? While looking for previous weddings at the Summit House, we found Whimsie Photo’s blog and fell in love with how beautiful Sadi Lane’s portfolio was. All of her photographs were filled with so much light and it matched our style completely!
What did you enjoy most about your wedding day? Our first look was truly the most enjoyable part of the day. It felt like time had frozen and we were just lost in each other’s eyes.
What advice would you give future brides and grooms? Yelp everything! We found most of our vendors that way including our delicious cake and amazing DJ. Two days before the wedding, Yelp saved me when the bridal salon I originally purchased my sample gown from didn’t finish my dress as promised. I quickly found a 5 star bridal salon nearby, Pebble’s Bridal, and they made my dress look brand new in one day!
A fun or interesting fact about the couple or wedding? We planned everything for our wedding within 1 month! We were both so in love and ready to make it official. Instead of eloping, we gathered as many of our loved ones together and truly made it the best day ever!
