Just months before their big day, Melanie reached out to me with a vision for her wedding that I couldn’t wait to be a part of. Due to Covid they had to cancel their big wedding in Paris last year and wanted to bring a bit of Parisian charm to Southern California instead. With Kimberly Crest Mansion as the setting I knew it would be a fairytale event. I was not wrong, every single detail of this gorgeous affair was planned to perfection, from those gorgeous bridal details to the Parisian crepe stand, it was straight out of a story book. Melanie and Francis chose a fun color palette that blends soft blues with blushes and peachy bloom for a Marie Antoinette meets Bridgerton inspired vibe. I have to admit I was smitten, the month leading up to their wedding I scoured local antique shops searching for the perfect details like these little dishes and trays to incorporate into their flat lays and I am thrilled with how they came out.
The wedding ceremony took place in the garden out front of the Historic Kimberly Crest Event center under a gorgeous round arch with the prettiest floral arrangement on top. Behind the couple was a gorgeous fish pond covered in lily pads and live music set the mood for the entire event.
How did you meet? Through Francis’ cousin (He was dating a mutual friend at that time) and they thought we’d be a good match.
How did you know she/he was the one?: We were in a long distance relationship for quite some time and moved to California to be with Francis. I guess when you know, you just know. Also, I was very sick from 2018-2020 and could not figure out what was wrong with me. Finally, during covid I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease (I thought I was going to die) But Francis helped me all through and out of that scary experience.
How did he propose?: He proposed on the day of our first date and filled our house with flowers and memories. It was simple ( Francis has social anxiety and were both introverts) but very heartwarming.
Why did you choose your venue?: We were supposed to get married 8/8/2020 in Paris. I honestly did not plan to get married in 2021 but accidentally saw a photo of kimberly crest through instagram (your instagram) and absolutely fell in love with the place
What was your floral inspiration?: Marie antoinette (but romantic) & Bridgerton
What was the theme/colors/concept for your wedding?: French dusty blue, Pop of peach and pale pink.
What was the highlight of your wedding day, the best part for each of you?: The vows. It was everything.
